Channel Isles World War 2 site  hosts Beacon

A World War 2 site on the Isle of Wight will light up on June 4th.

St Boniface Down is the highest point on the Isle of Wight, rising to 241mtrs. It can be seen clearly from the mainland and from the English Channel. It has many claims to fame in history not least that it was the site of the early warning radar system during WW2. On the 4th June The Bonchurch Community Association are putting a beacon on top of this historic site.
